Anthony Albanese has revealed his partner received a special gift from First Lady Jill Biden while on a recent trip to the US.
The Prime Minister, his partner Jodie Haydon, US President Joe Biden and Dr Biden had an intimate dinner in the White House while on an official visit to the US last month.
Usually, the President would take official guests out to dinner, but because of “security concerns” the group stayed in instead.
Mr Albanese said the women “got on like a house on fire”.

“I’m having a chat with Joe at one stage and we both look over and there’s Jodes changing her shoes,” Mr Albanese told the Kyle and Jackie O show.
“We were walking back to the official guesthouse after dinner, which was about 250m, and Jill had said to her, ‘You can’t walk in high heels. I’ll go get you …’ so she went off and got a pair of sandshoes … tennis shoes.”
Kyle Sandilands interjected, asking if they were “crusty old shoes or were they new”.
“They looked pretty new, and Jodes got to keep them,” Mr Albanese laughed.

Mr Albanese then revealed she had worn them “the other day”.
“Jodes has Jill Biden’s shoes,” he laughed.
He went on to describe the “pinch me” feeling he’d had the whole time he was in the US and how it had made him think of his mother.
“There was just this moment of ‘wow, this is a big deal for Australia and for me’,” he said.
