Ed Sheeran spotted on commercial flight to Sydney

The “humble” British megastar shocked travellers in Ballina yesterday, shunning a private jet in favour of a commercial Virgin flight.

Ed Sheeran is surely the most normal A-lister on the planet.

The British megastar, 32, went under the radar at Ballina Airport on Monday, where he boarded a commercial Virgin flight to Sydney from the regional town.

The multi-Grammy award winner shunned the traditional private jet route many musicians take while on tour in Australia, instead, travelling with the masses after enjoying a weekend off in Byron Bay with his family.

Sheeran kept a low profile wearing a cap and sunglasses, and was seen walking through airport security with a backpack alongside fellow travellers.

Thousands took to social media to praise Sheeran for being “down to earth”, while also applauding him for snubbing a chartered flight.

The Perfect singer had earlier been spotted with his wife Cherry Seaborn, 30, and their two children Lyra, 2, and Jupiter, nine months, enjoying a day at the beach on Sunday.

While he was there, Sheeran asked patient Keasine Latu to sing with him.

“I was put on the spot, the cameraman told him I could sing and it was in front of everyone so I just started singing,” Keasine told Today on Monday.

“It was the best thing I experienced my entire life, meeting Ed Sheeran was amazing.”
