The fast food giant has welcomed a new fried treat to its menu for the first time ever – with a surprisingly romantic twist.

KFC has launched its “first ever” menu item with onion rings to herald the revival of its KFC weddings – which offers one lucky couple the celebration of a lifetime.
The BBQ Onion Ring Burger, which is available at participating stores from today, consists of an Original Recipe Fillet, cheese, lettuce, sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, and, the piece de resistance, two onion rings.
The two rings, the fast food chain said, “are the exact number needed to get married”.
In order to go in the running to win a wedding from the Colonel, Aussie lovebirds are encouraged to head to their local KFC, pick up a BBQ Onion Ring Burger, get down on one knee with the aforementioned ring, and submit a photo of the big moment.
The best proposal will receive an $80,000 wedding package – complete with KFC catering, theming and budget to support additional elements including venue hire, photography and entertainment.
All Australians aged 18 and over, regardless of gender, sexual preference, religion or age are invited to enter.

“We’re also incredibly excited for Aussies to sink their teeth into our new BBQ Onion Ring Burger. We have a feeling this will be a new fan favourite for many years to come.”
Customers can purchase the BBQ Onion Ring Burger from today until Monday, November 27 in store or via the KFC App.
