Tammy Hembrow reveals reason behind split from fiance Matt Poole

Tammy Hembrow has revealed the reason behind her split from fiance Matt Poole, after months of speculation about the state of her relationship.

The Gold Coast fitness mogul announced her engagement to Poole – a restaurateur and former Ironman – in November 2021, before welcoming their first child together last June.
Rumours began to swirl, however, in September that the pair had parted ways, after Poole disappeared from Hembrow’s social media and she was spotted without her engagement ring.

At the time, she was quick to dispel any speculation, writing that her relationship was “just a part of my life I’m choosing not to share anymore”.

“And out of respect for everyone and for my kids I just don’t feel I need to give an explanation,” Hembrow added.

Now a comment from Hembrow on TikTok has finally confirmed what many long suspected.

“What happened with you Matt?” someone wrote under one of the influencer’s videos on the platform.

To which she responded: Some people are just not meant to be together no matter how hard they try. We are much better as friends. Not that it’s anyone’s business.”

Hembrow had previously eluded to her split from Poole during a photo shoot in Sydney, allegedly telling one of the makeup artists on set that it was “tough work being a single mother of three”.

The 28-year-old has two children, son Wolf and daughter Saskia, from her relationship with ex-fiance Reece Hawkins. The pair made headlines in 2018 when they called off their engagement after four years of dating.

Hembrow and Poole had been together since 2020, with the star praising him for “stepping up” as a father-figure to her children.

“You may not be their father by blood but the bond you might have with my babies is something else,” she wrote in the tribute.
