Three people have been admitted to hospital after a popular music festival, while another 81 received medical treatment – and 100 are facing charges.
Tens of thousands of people braved the first day of the new year at Field Day music festival, with paramedics kept busy in the sweltering conditions.
Eighty-four people received medical treatment at the annual festival, held on New Year’s Day in The Domain in Sydney.

Clear blue skies made conditions feel far warmer than the forecast top of 27C on Sunday, as 27,000 revellers sweated through the daylight hours.
Police were also kept busy, with 100 people charged with drug offences in both overt and covert operations.
As part of the operation, 97 people were detected in possession of illicit drugs, including MDMA, amphetamines, cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, LSD, ketamine and psilocybin (mushrooms).

Police will allege in court that a 21-year-old man was in possession of 15 capsules of MDMA, a 21-year-old man was with nine capsules of MDMA, and a 25-year-old woman was in possession of five MDMA capsules.
All three were charged with supply prohibited and granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court at a later date.
